Fatal MVC Thursday on Northfield Dr

A 23-year-old man from Elora died on the scene after the car he was driving crossed into the opposing late of traffic and collided head-on with a dump truck, near 2419 Northfield Drive in Elmira.

The car ended up in a field and the dump truck driver went to the hospital with minor injuries and was released. Speed of the Elora man’s car is considered to be a contributing factor, while drug and alcohol are not. There were no passengers. Crews closed the road for several hours and the investigation continues.
