Remembrance Day in Maryhill was different this year.  No students visiting the Old Walled Cemetery monument to the war Veterans.  No evening Mass followed with a gathering in the cemetery.  But the veterans from Maryhill who fought in the wars were remembered.  The Maryhill Historical Society placed Canadian flags on the graves of our veteran’s grave sites. In the Old Walled Cemetery a flag was placed at the monument and on the grave sites of Frank Fehrenbach, Andrew Weiler and Lincoln Yantz.  In the New Cemetery flags were placed at the grave sites of John Bitschy, Clarence Brohman, Willard Brohman,  Frank Bruder, Verne Drexler, Wilfred Ellig, Gregory Goetz, Ray A. Hergott, Ray L. Hergott, Ken Hipel, George Kurtz, Leo Lauber, Alfred Rider, Frank Rider, Joseph Martin Vagel, Romie Voisin, Frank Waechter, Leander Weiler, Simon Weiler, Anthony Zettel,  Anthony Zinger, Cyril Zinger and  Joe Zinger.

In St. Boniface Church a special display was at the foot of St. Joseph’s altar and people were encouraged to place their poppies on a special board in front of the Lectern on the altar.
