A police search for a missing Kitchener man came to an end Nov. 6 when his body was found near St. Clements.

George Nasiakos, 29, was last seen leaving work, a location on University Avenue in Waterloo, on Nov. 2. When he did not return home that evening, a family member called Waterloo Regional Police to express a concern the man might try to harm himself.

The search continued throughout the week until the evening of Nov. 6, when police located Nasiakos’ dark green, 1995 Volvo station wagon in Wellesley Township near the outskirts of St. Clements. Upon further search of the area surrounding the vehicle, officers found the man’s body in a nearby wooded area.

Police spokesman Olaf Heinzel said officers are continuing to investigate the death in conjunction with the coroner’s office, but thus far foul play is not suspected in the incident.
