Automobile enthusiasts will get a chance to see some of their favourite vintage vehicles at the Heritage Community Park in Maryhill June 27.

From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., vintage cars of all types will dot the landscape as part of the Maryhill Knights of Columbus’ effort to raise funds for its charitable projects.

“We have a fun thing for everybody,” said event chair and third degree Knight Robert Gobbi.

“We’re expecting 200-plus cars at the show. All different eras: from model As and Model Ts right up to late 1960s and 1970s Ford Mustangs and Firebirds.”

In addition to the cars, the event will also feature face-painting for kids, food and refreshments as well as a live band: The Hogans will perform music from the 1970s and 1980s throughout the day.

Tickets will also be on sale for a chance to win a 1967 Mustang convertible. Sponsored by the Delhi Knights of Columbus, tickets for this prize – which will likely be raffled off in February – will also be sold at next week’s event.

“We’ve got a wide range of organizations that we support throughout the year. That money goes into helping our local community with various projects that we support,” said Gobbi.

Car admission is $10 with prizes awarded to the top three cars; general admission is $2 per person or $5 per family.

Funds raised will go toward Knights of Columbus charities, including an area drop-in centre and specific individuals in the community in need of assistance with medical issues. The Knights are also working with a local play group to help offset the organization’s rental fees at the Maryhill Heritage Community Centre.
