You could call it paint by numbers.
At the recent Multicultural Festival of Elmira, organizers invited attendees to contribute to the multi-panelled mural prepared by commissioned artist Miho Nagayama, adding their own brushstrokes to the sunny, whimsical composition called Growing Together.
The vibrantly coloured piece, which was unveiled at Arthur Street’s Local Renaissance Café on Saturday morning, was a collaborative effort from the start. After sharing sketches of what she wanted to create with the organizers, Nagayama then incorporated feedback that transformed her initial vision.
