Police investigated a three vehicle collision on Arthur Street South near the village of St. Jacobs on Sunday, closing the highway for several hours.

A pickup truck, driven by a 38 year old female from Hawkesville, was traveling along Arthur Street heading towards Elmira when she crossed the centre line and sideswiped another pick up truck towing a camper trailer heading south.

The pick up and trailer lost control and flipped landing in a ditch on the side of the highway which forced a third vehicle, driven by a 26 year old Elmira woman, off the road.

The driver and passenger of the truck and trailer were a couple in their 80’s and both suffered non-life threatening injuries.

The female driver of the pick up truck sustained minor injuries and was charged with careless driving.
