If public opposition was enough to quash a project, the proposal for an industrial site on Woolwich agricultural land would already be doomed.
A petition presented this week to township council includes the names not only of those who live in the vicinity, but from across Waterloo Region.
CRA Lands Limited is looking to develop land on the north side of Bridge Street at the edge of the township, opposite an industrial area in Waterloo. All the land is currently zoned for agricultural use. The business park would require changes to the township’s official plan, along with bringing all of it into the settlement area and arranging for water and sewer services from the City of Waterloo.
