The monthly meeting of the Historical Society of St. Boniface and Maryhill Community took place on Monday, April 22nd in the Edward Halter Home at 7 p.m.
Committee Reports:
ARCHIVES & GENEALGOY – Research assistance was given to help families search their families -Larry Stephens (Schohn / Brohman / Schmitt / Stiltz) Lorraine Hinsberger (Von Hatten / Schoefter) , Ann Staines ( Reinhard / Scherer) Fred Blair (Weiler).
BIRTHDAY CLUB -Cards were sent out for January – 8, February – 7, March 11, and April 11.
BUILDING MAINTENANCE – Cost being looked into for updating the bathroom in the Edward Halter Home. Fire Extinguishers have been replaced.
CHURCH – Two baptisms took place last month. Received this years parish Confirmation picture and names.
COMMUNITY – Continuing to work on Veterans information. 2 get well cards are being sent out.
FUNDRAISING – Ideas were discussed concerning the Heritage Day fundraiser.
MEMBERSHIP – We have 302 member households and now have 164 of those members receiving their newsletters via email.
PROGRAM – Canada Day planning was discussed and everything is on track. On Monday, April 29th at 6:30 members will be visiting homes in the area to promote the Historical Society.
PUBLICATION – The newsletter is being prepared and will be ready to go out in June.
RESOURCE CENTRE – The Open House schedule was circulated and will begin on Sunday, June 16th from 1-4 p.m.
SCHOOL – 2019-2020 School staff list updated.
WEBSITE – Is constantly being updated.
