It was a very cold evening for the first meeting of the New Year for the  St. Boniface Catholic Women’s League on January 10, 2019.  The meeting was held in the Edward Halter Home at 7 p.m.

CORRESPONDENCE received were thank you’s from Ray of Hope and Lizaard House for our monetary donations. St. Boniface School grade 4 students for their Bibles.  Euthanasia Prevention Newsletter, Good Work News bulletin, the Working Centre and St. John’s Kitchen letter and a request for a donation  from the Catholic Youth Organization for their fundraiser.

Judy Kittel spoke on the “Sanguen Health Centre” van  and how appreciative they were to receive the items both from the CWL and the Bloomingdale Women’s Institute.

A letter was received from the CWL Diocesan explaining  Convention costs.  Fran Vegh also passed around a flyer with items that will be used for fundraising for the 100th CWL anniversary.

Card Convenor Maria O’Drowsky reported sending 1 get well card, 1 50th Wedding Anniversary card and 6 Sympathy cards.

February 9th is the Valentine Dinner at the Maryhill Heritage Park Community Centre with sittings at 5 and 7 p.m.  This year the meat will be Rolled Ribs and Ham.

Annual Reports are due on January 15th.

Barb Nosal gave a Spiritual Reflection on Lent to give the – “Gift of time and presence”

The May meeting will be an excursion to a musical performance “Sentimental Journey – a musical journey through the decades” by the Guse family on Friday, May 3rd at 7 p.m. Cost is $30 please contact Frances Vegh (519)648-3952 or Diane Strickler (519)648-2432 by February 6th to order your ticket.  Cost is $30 or less if we get enough people.  Friends welcome.

No meeting in February.
