The monthly meeting of the St. St. Boniface Catholic Women’s League was held on Tuesday 13th December 2022 at 7 p.m.

CORRESPONDENCE – Guelph & Area Right to Life and Comboni Missionaries newsletters were received also correspondence from Ray of Hope, Euthanasia Prevention, the Working Centre, Lisaard Hospice, Catholic Youth Organization, Marillac Place and The Carmelite Sisters.

President Fran Vegh spoke on the Annual Member satisfaction survey she received from the National office; she also spoke on the newly revised Constitution & Bylaws, and the Policy & Procedures manual.

CONVENOR REPORTS– Hillside Residence will be hosting an Open House on Thursday, Dec. 15th from 3-9 p.m. They have received approval to accept Ukraine Families.  It has 13 rooms and will be able to help 22 Ukrainians who are in desperate need of housing.

NEW BUSINESS – As we have not had an election for several years, letters will be sent to members to those who do not have email for a new executive in 2023.  Perhaps new people would like to stand on the executive.

Service pins have not been given out since 2013.

The new meeting schedule for 2023 was discussed.  There will be no meeting in January as it seems we usually had to cancel because of bad weather. The meetings will resume in February until June.

Discussion took place regarding a Valentine Fundraiser in February.

The draw took place on the 2 beautiful Christmas Baskets that Marg Drexler had made as a fundraiser. Tickets were $2 or 3 for $5 and were sold after church from November 20- December 11.  The first basket went to Charlotte Brohman and the second was won by Hughina Spenser. This money raised will go toward the paying the league memberships for our shut-ins.

The meeting closed with a prayer for vocations. Coffee and Christmas treats were enjoyed by those attending the meeting.

CWL CHRISTMAS BASKET DRAW – Congratulations to Charlotte Brohman and Hughina Spenser who won the Christmas Baskets. The Money will be used to pay for the League Membership for our shut-ins
