The saying that many hands make light work certainly was very true this past Saturday, February 8th.  The Maryhill Knights of Columbus and St. Boniface Catholic Women’s League group were busy preparing for their annual fundraising dinner. This all takes place at the Maryhill Heritage Park Community Centre. Preparation started in the morning in the kitchen with the cleaning and preparing the vegetables for the trays, the pickle bowls, making the coleslaw and the cutting of the ham. In the hall a group of men and ladies were busy setting up tables and decorating the hall. The meal consisted of the popular rolled ribs and ham with mashed potatoes, creamy coleslaw, mixed vegetables, buns, pickles and relish tray. To cap the meal were several different kinds of pies and coffee and tea. The weather was very good which helped for the wonderful turnout for both the 5 and 7 p.m. seatings.
