A woman is dead after a crash near Wallenstein at the intersection of Manser Road and Line 86 on October 11.

Forty-six-year-old Michele Magennis was travelling southbound on Manser Road (Wellington Road 12) when she failed to stop her 2004 grey Pontiac Montana van at the Line 86 stop sign. She entered the intersection and struck a westbound transport truck on the broadside of her vehicle.

The Hepworth woman was pronounced dead at the scene as a result of injuries after firefighters and ambulance crews attempted to revive her.

A passenger in the van, a 38-year-old man from Oliphant, was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the transport truck was not injured.

The investigation into the crash continues, and alcohol is considered a possible factor in the collision. Witnesses to this incident are asked to contact the traffic services branch at 519-653-7700, ext. 8856 or email traffic@wrps.on.ca.
