The Barbershop Festival is set for its third iteration later this month at Gale Presbyterian Church in Elmira.

While that type of music typically conjures images of moustachioed men in striped blazers and straw-boaters belting out old-timey tunes, it’s a different story when it comes to St. Jacobs’ Chord Spinners.

In this case, they’re all women, and stripes are decidedly optional. Instead of four members, there are a dozen or so singers, and they’re more likely to harmonize peppy pop tunes such as Here Comes the Sun.

For this event, their repertoire will include the addition of Sunny Side of the Street.
