There have been two confirmed human cases of Lyme disease in Waterloo Region, along with another probable one, public health officials say.

Region of Waterloo Public Health also reported finding two black-legged ticks in the area that tested positive for the bacteria that cause the disease.

The two cases are not attributed to those ticks, however, noted Bernadette Moussa, public health manager of health protection and healthy environment.
