The federal and provincial governments are putting up $22 million for Ontario’s agri-food sector to help local farmers and processors expand into global markets.
Delivered through Ontario’s Market Diversification and Trade Resiliency Initiative, the funding will support 130 farmers and processors across the province.
Alongside Martin’s Family Fruit Farm and Beck’s Broth, the initiative will provide five Waterloo Region businesses with a combined $1.4 million to scale up operations and target new domestic and international markets. Among them is Heidelberg Foods Ltd.
