Last month, 26,670 people in the region accessed services run by the Food Bank of Waterloo Region which supplies individuals with emergency food hampers and meals. That represents a three per cent increase over the same time last year.
According to CEO Kim Wilhelm, demand continues to rise with the cost of living.
