Fifty years ain’t nothing to sneeze at.
That’s how long Josslin Insurance, a brokerage that traces back to a tiny office in New Hamburg opened in 1880, has been under the leadership of the Wagler family. Since patriarch Don purchased it in 1975 with his wife Rose, the business has grown exponentially under sons Scott and Steve. First acquiring an additional location in Tavistock in the 1980s, it was then expanded into Kitchener and Wellesley.
Today it’s operating eight offices throughout the region and beyond, including offices in Elmira, Listowel and Cambridge. And though it’s become a juggernaut in the local insurance industry, they’ve tried to retain the grassroots community focus that their father, who passed away in 2020, worked to instill in the pair. The managing partner brothers joke they started off as “child labour,” helping out around the office as kids.
