If you can’t find a job, why don’t you create one?

That’s the idea behind the latest cash infusion coming from the Ontario government, which is looking to staunch the bleeding in an increasingly bleak economic environment. As youth unemployment skyrockets, they’re hoping that funnelling funds towards young entrepreneurs will result in the creation of new small businesses and companies.

This funding announcement comes amidst what experts are calling an “entrepreneurial drought” across Canada, in which business closures and exits have outpaced new openings since early 2024.
