For many people, gardening is a beloved hobby. But for Barb Smith, it is a passion that pushed her to join the Woolwich Gardeners 22 years ago. That’s where she took her love for plants to a new level, pouring her heart into the non-profit’s mission to beautify the community and provide horticulture education.
Over the years, she has helped work on public gardens, participated in monthly meetings and led the annual garden tour fundraiser.
Her hard work and dedication in Woolwich have not gone unnoticed. Last month, Smith received a letter in the mail from the Ontario Horticultural Association (OHA) telling her that she would be receiving an Honour Roll award for her dedication to horticulture at the upcoming provincial ceremony.
