The families of St. Boniface School were again very generous donating both food and toys for the Woolwich Christmas Goodwill Program.
For every item brought in the students could pick out an ornament and place on the Christmas tree in the front foyer of the school. The tree looked beautiful with the many ornaments and the garland, which is from the Rosary Club.
Every student who goes over to church with Ms. Corinne Kennedy on Friday to say the rosary gets a coloured band. The students put their name on the bands and the then get attached together. Each year the bands are a different colour. The Rosary club was started 4 years ago and the chain is now getting quite long. On 2 years of chain are put on the tree.
These ornaments are taken down on Friday afternoon and returned to the student who can place them on their own tree at home.
What a beautiful reminder to each one that they gave to help someone in need.
On Tuesday morning, Dec. 15th Maryhill Fire Chief Kevin Karley loaded his truck with the donations.
A heartfelt thank you to all the students who participated to collect the more than 117 lbs. of food and toys to take to Elmira.
