Now, the Elmira Sugar Kings are putting together an in-game free kids program dubbed Elmira Sugar Cubs for the upcoming 2026-27 season.
The idea was sparked when eight-year-old Ainsley got handed a signed stick by her favourite King.
The video of the interaction posted on social media by her mom, Meagan Bingham, went viral. That got her thinking about some great ways to better engage kids in the community at the rink.
