Launched 20 years ago, Elmira’s Sunday night concert series proved a popular summertime event. Audiences at the Gore Park bandstand grew such that the crowd spilled out into the street.
In recent years, the event has made its home at the much more spacious Gibson Park, and all summer music lovers can expect to hear a variety of acts starting this weekend.
Founded by local musician Lynn Russwurm with the goal of providing a regular, free venue for traditional country and bluegrass music, the concert series has been organized by his son, Lance Russwurm, since Lynn’s passing in 2016.
