Up until recently, I had never tipped a canoe in 50-plus years of using one. But that changed last week when my best friend and I were setting out decoys for a morning duck hunt – in the dark, on a river we knew all too well.
The good news is we tipped in shallow water and only lost one goose call – which some people, my Jenn included, would deem to be a blessing. The bad news is that whenever a canoe is tipped, blame needs to be assigned.
