The Elmira Sugar Kings finally got a win in October after edging the Waterloo Siskins 5-4 on Sunday.
The team had dropped a 4-1 decision to Listowel on Friday to extend its October streak to six losses.
The win came as a relief to head coach Cory McRae.
“Against Waterloo, I thought we were the better team from start to finish. We finally got the streak ended, which made us happy. The guys were pretty happy about that, and I just thought we played really well. For the most part, we outplayed them all three periods,” he said.
