That old sweater with holes sitting in your closet or that chair with a loose leg do not belong in the trash. Instead, they are treasures waiting for a second life at Woolwich Township’s upcoming Repair Café.
Organized by the Township of Woolwich, the community event will take place on Saturday, Sept. 26 at the Woolwich Memorial Centre in Elmira. The event is free and open to all residents.
The core philosophy behind repair cafés is to foster a circular economy. Instead of buying new products when something breaks, attendees work alongside skilled volunteers to fix items like clothing and small electronics, keeping them out of local landfills.
