Imagine walking across a local farm with a pail of hand-picked apples in one hand and a vibrant bouquet of hand-cut flowers in the other. This exact charm is what Waterloo Region’s Fields and Flavours Trail aims to capture.
The trail is a self-guided tour where visitors can locate participating local farms using an online interactive map. Stops along the route offer a rich variety of rural experiences, ranging from classic apple picking to scenic wagon rides.
“We started working on it back in 2023 as more of a Farm Gate Trail. We worked with the Culinary Tourism Alliance, who did a bunch of research for us,” said Emily Lake, director of operations and membership for Explore Waterloo Region.
