If it’s on his property, then it’s his problem.
That’s the feedback Woolwich farmer Pat Polillo received from authorities following a series of complaints about illegal dumping on his farm. And it’s not just household refuse he’s dealing with – it’s dump trucks unloading construction materials such as topsoil, broken concrete, bricks and lumber.
“We’ve been here over 27 years and this is probably the worst it’s been, starting about six years ago. I would say the past two to three years have been the worst, and this year, the way it’s going, will be the absolute worst,” the Apple Grove Road resident told The Observer.
“It used to be a small amount. But now we’re getting dump-truck loads.”
