It is with extreme sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Florence (Walter) Martin at WRHN Midtown on Tuesday, June 9th, 2026 in her 87th year. Beloved wife of Walter Martin for 66 years. Dear mother of Darrell (Karen) Martin, Maynard (Donna) Martin, Lewis (Kim) Martin, Brenda (Brett) Barriage, Terry (Faye) Martin, and Brad (Lynne) Martin. Lovingly remembered by her 20 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Earl Diefenbacher, Elaine Frey, and Doris MacKenzie. Sister-in-law of Marie (Melvin) Brubacher, Elsie (the late Willis) Martin, and Wayne (Doreen) Martin. Predeceased by her parents Aaron and Irene (Martin) Diefenbacher, brothers Edward Diefenbacher, Lorne (Elvina) Diefenbacher, sisters Vera (Abner) Bowman, Aleda Diefenbacher; and sister-in-law Esther Diefenbacher. Florence lived a life of deep faith, devotion to her family, and service to others. Whenever she could, she took time to visit friends, especially those who were alone. Mom loved and cared so deeply for her family and she expressed that love in so many different ways. Her family never doubted the love she felt for each one of them. She will be missed more than words can say. Visitation will take place on Friday, June 12, 2026 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Woodside Bible Fellowship, 200 Barnswallow Dr., Elmira. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 13, 2026 at Woodside Bible Fellowship with a reception to follow in the church hall. The service will be livestreamed and can be accessed through Florence’s tribute page of the Dreisinger Funeral Home website. A private family interment will take place in Elmira Union Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Conestoga Bible Camp or Community Care Concepts would be appreciated and may be made through the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira.
