The Wellesley Applejacks kept their title hunt alive with two weekend wins, with head coach Derek Lebold saying a trade-deadline injection of talent has strengthened his side.
A 4-2 victory over the Hespeler Shamrocks and a 6-4 win against the Norwich Merchants cut the gap to the division-leading Woodstock Navy Vets to two points.
It marked Wellesley’s first weekend sweep in seven weeks, ending a stretch of win-loss splits during what Lebold described as a “tight December.”
