When you hear the sirens going in your community, when you’re being called to evacuate or shelter in place, do you know the right way to keep your family safe? Do you have a plan to reach your loved ones? To ensure your safety amidst chaos and uncertainty?
If the answer is no, then Emergency Preparedness Week is for you. On this week through May 9, the event is designed to remind people how to stay informed and be ready.
“This is really an opportunity for us to remind residents that they have a role to play in being prepared for emergencies,” community emergency management coordinator Avril Tanner told The Observer.
