The local non-profit organization Property Taxpayers Alliance, which monitors the eight municipal governments in the Waterloo Region, recently approached all of the mayoral and council hopefuls to learn who supports capping property taxes at the rate of inflation.
It’s a very simple question.
“We are looking to endorse mayors and councillors who limit tax increases to inflation, set real efficiency targets and are transparent with all information to taxpayers,” executive member Hardy Willms told The Observer.
