Woolwich Mayor Sandy Shantz fears the upcoming move to less frequent recycling collection could encourage people to put blue-box items in garbage bins instead.
As part of the provincial move to make manufacturers responsible to cover the eco-handing costs for their products, a new every-other-week schedule will begin on March 3.
From that date, recycling – formerly weekly – will alternate with garbage collection, which will now use the new automated black bins delivered to every household.
