For people in a wheelchair or who have a physical disability getting around old buildings built before accessibility was a priority is difficult. To bridge this gap, the Drayton Mapleton Agricultural Society is prioritizing inclusivity by laying plans to install an elevator lift in its building.
Farm Credit Canada last week announced the Drayton Mapleton Agricultural Society would receive $21,000 in funding for the project. This is part of FCC’s AgriSpirit Fund, which is investing $1.5 million to support 83 rural projects across Canada.
