Former EDSS math teacher Rich Clausi often relishes using his data analysis skills to assess submissions for the Royal Canadian Legion’s annual remembrance poster competition.
But last year, when he first clapped eyes on Casey Bouwman’s “powerful” artwork, depicting a soldier as both a young and old man, he just knew the 17-year-old from Winterbourne was worthy of the top local prize.
“We looked at it and straightaway went, ‘Oh, my goodness, this is a winner,’” said the Elmira Legion branch’s youth education chairman.
