Amber Moffat was only two years old when she first received her cystic fibrosis diagnosis, and at that time there was very little public awareness of what impact the disease would have on her life.

It was a dark time for her parents, as they navigated raising a child with difficulties they didn’t yet understand.

Fast forward 30 years, and Moffat is married with four boys. The Elmira resident has been leading an annual walk called Amber’s Salty Story in support of Cystic Fibrosis Canada every May, using her lived experience to help raise awareness of the medical breakthroughs that have occurred during her lifetime.
