An agricultural innovation pitch event aimed at keeping homegrown ag-tech talent in Canada is returning to Elora this spring.

SPARK, hosted by the Grand River Agricultural Society, will take place April 22 (Earth Day) at the GrandWay Events Centre. Now in its fifth year, the event brings together ag-tech entrepreneurs, investors, researchers and media for a day focused on carbon-smart agricultural innovation.

The event showcases later-stage ag-tech companies that already have products or services in the marketplace, pitching live to potential investors and industry leaders. Organizers say the focus is on practical technologies that improve farm efficiency while reducing carbon emissions.
