Steven Martin of Heidelberg passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, May 27, 2026 in his 68th year. Beloved brother of Kenneth, Glenda and Doug Dippel, Gary, Lori-Ann Martin and Ron Siebert, and Lynann Mcnulty and Alex Irvine. Steven will be fondly remembered by 19 nieces and nephews, their families, and by his many cousins and friends. Predeceased by his parents Isaiah B. and Shirley (Huehn) Martin, and his sister-in-law Janelda (Ken) Martin. Steven’s greatest passion was fishing and going to his cottage near Parry Sound. He spent many contented hours out on the water, hoping to catch the big one. He loved cars, buying and restoring his first before he was old enough to drive. He continued to work on his pride and joy, a ‘73 Gran Torino, throughout his life. He worked as an auto mechanic for many years before switching to driving truck for a variety of companies. Steven lived his entire life in Heidelberg in the house in which he grew up, caring for his aging mother Shirley, until she passed away in 2022. His sense of humour and charm will be remembered by all. His family wishes to extend their gratitude to the dear neighbours and friends who regularly checked in on him and helped with tasks that he was no longer able to do himself. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, July 10, 2026 at St. Peters Lutheran Church, 2925 Lobsinger Line, Heidelberg, with a reception to follow. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Lung Association or Diabetes Canada would be appreciated and may be made through the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira.
