The family of Myrna Yaniszewski is deeply saddened to announce her passing at the age of 85, following a brief illness. A longtime and cherished resident of both Elmira and Allumette Island, Myrna will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Remembered by her family as a loving wife and mother, Myrna was also known to many as a gifted painter and instructor. She discovered her artistic talents later in life, nurturing a passion that flourished. Myrna was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Henry Yaniszewski. She is survived by her sons Mark Yaniszewski, and Peter Yaniszewski. In accordance with her wishes, Myrna will be interred on Allumette Island, a place that she loved with all her heart. In remembrance of Myrna’s life, a memorial service will be held on Allumette Island at a future date. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the WRHN Foundation - in appreciation of the care Myrna received - or the Alzheimer Society of Canada would be greatly appreciated by the family, and may be made through the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira.
