When it comes to creating an immersive film experience, all of the details matter. There’s the taste of the popcorn, the brightly lit movie posters in the lobby and the quality of the projector. Then there’s the configuration of the seats, the accessibility of the bathrooms, the shuddering resonance of the sound system.

All of this together creates the sort of movie magic that keeps people coming back for more, and that’s why the Princess Twin theatre in Uptown Waterloo is giving itself a makeover.

“We’re doing a big renovation at the cinema. The Princess Twin is 20 years old, so the seats are in need of replacement, but we also wanted to put some effort into improving the comfort and amenities of the space,” Jacob Tutt told The Observer.
