The region’s public high schools have seen learning standards dip slightly, while Catholic attainment levels have risen during the past year, according to a province-wide comparison of standardized math and literacy test results.

Reflecting this trend, EDSS slipped from 244th to 326th place among the 747 taxpayer-funded secondaries examined in the Fraser Institute’s rankings, after its score dropped from 6.9 to 6.4 out of 10.

As a consequence, its performance was 11th best in the region, according to the latest ratings released by the think tank on November 27.
