University of Waterloo (UW) researchers are developing a platform that uses real-time data to help predict wildfire outbreaks.
The UW team of Dante Maggiotto, Teodora Vujovic, Ibraheem Azhar and J. Romero are developing Firebird, which integrates artificial intelligence (AI), satellite imagery and meteorological data to forecast the high-risk zones by modelling wildfires and how they spread.
