Wellesley councillors last week questioned a staff proposal that would leave township dog parks largely inaccessible in winter by ending snow clearance at entrances.

Danny Roth, the director of recreation, suggested use of the facilities should be aligned with other municipal parks.

This would mean not providing winter maintenance, locking all gates except a single main entrance, and designating the facilities as “not maintained” and “use at own risk” from the first snowfall until April 15.
