The Woolwich Thrashers sledge junior hockey team struck gold at the Cruisers Cup Tournament. As well, the mixed open team claimed the bronze medal in their division at the Mississauga competition.
The junior squad went undefeated from October 31 to November 2, culminating in a 4-0 victory against the Southern Ontario Juniors in the final game.
“The junior Thrashers showed determination, teamwork and heart,” said Carrie Deckert, the manager for the group.
