A true story set in the aftermath of the First World War is the latest theatrical offering from Woodland Christian High School.
Radium Girls tells the story of girls and women who worked in paint factories where, during the war, they painted items such as watches and airplane dials with paint that contained radium. As instructed, the women would use their lips to give the brush a fine tip while they worked. This exposure caused health issues, including toothaches, back pains, cancer and sarcoma, and eventually led to the deaths of many of the women.
