4-H is branching out from its rural roots and hopes to start clubs in urban areas with the help of a $46,900 seed grant from the provincial government’s Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF).

The grant will fund a feasibility study to determine the best approach for introducing 4-H programs to urban audiences in Wellington, Waterloo and Dufferin counties. The area was chosen for its mix of rural and small- to mid-sized communities and its existing connections to agriculture and 4-H.

Wellington Halton Hills MPP Joseph Racinsky met virtually with the 4-H team on March 19 to mark the organization receiving the grant.
