Breslau’s Abby Byers started this track and field season at Wilfrid Laurier University with a first-place finish.
At the Tenke Classic indoor event in Guelph, the sprinter captured the win in 7.90 seconds in the women’s 60-metre event on November 21.
“I was pleasantly surprised when it went well,” said Byers, noting it was the opening meet for their season, and it was to see where their track and field team stood and figure out what they needed to work on.
