Morning monitors are a thing of the past for the Waterloo Catholic School Board, as they’ve fallen victim to staffing cuts. Both CUPE 2512 and the Ontario School Board Council are decrying the move to phase out these supervisors by the end of the school year.
“The Waterloo Catholic District School Board regularly reviews how resources are allocated to ensure they reflect the evolving needs of our schools and students,” manager of communications Lema Salaymeh told The Observer.
“More than a decade ago, WCDSB introduced morning supervisors as a temporary measure to support families through a change in school start times.”
