The regional government is updating its complaint process to address points raised by private well owners about how the Waterloo Region previously handled their water concerns.

Between January and May of this year, several private well complaints were filed in Wilmot Township, with some people noticing their wells drying up.

However, local residents argued the region handled these complaints unfairly, sparking outrage and prompting the region to update its groundwater interference complaints policy, which dates back to 2015.
