Conestoga College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning is among six organizations across Canada receiving federal funding aimed at improving the health, wellbeing, and quality of life of people living with dementia, as well as the family members and caregivers who support them.
The funding was announced Tuesday by federal Health Minister Marjorie Michel, who said more than $4.7 million will be distributed to new national and community-based projects through the Dementia Community Investment program.
Other recipients include the Art Gallery of Hamilton, Canada's National Ballet School, the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute, the Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre and the University of Northern British Columbia.
