Elmira’s Nathan Whittom was between the pipes for the Calgary Raiders as they captured junior A box lacrosse’s Minto Cup last month.
“As a fifth-year guy, it was just super special, super surreal,” he said.
But as the squad claimed the title, his late brother Austin Whittom was on his mind.
“My older brother looking down on me as well was pretty cool to know he was in the building, and it’s something I’ve dreamed of since losing him when he was 14. It was pretty special just to get the job done.”
